About St. Francis de Sales High School

St. Francis de Sales High School (SFDS) is Chicago’s oldest co-educational Catholic high school. The school is located in the traditionally working-class neighborhood of Chicago’s historical East Side. The parish school began in 1893 and the four-year high school has been in existence since 1937. SFDS is a small, community school serving a growing student body who reflect the diverse social, intellectual, economic, cultural and religious make-up of the area. Last year, the school welcomed their new leader and school alumna, Roni Facen. Her transformational leadership has engaged and energized alumni, partners and families in the mission of St. Francis de Sales High School and the school’s commitment to supporting students and the community they serve.

Our school is supported by the Big Shoulders Fund, which recognizes the importance and exceptional value that our school provides to families and the important role we play in the community
